The Hatchling Shiraz

Shiraz from Block Two (South) typically produces slightly larger berries, creating wines that are soft and voluptuous in style. This becomes the backbone of The Hatchling Shiraz. 
This block has a deep soil profile with sandy loam over light and medium clay. This results in high levels of readily available water to be accessed by vine roots making the block relatively drought tolerant.

Colour: Deep crimson
Aroma: Ripe black fruits, plums and blueberry dominate with hints of blackforest cake, clove, black pepper, cinnamon, roasting meats, violets, dark chocolate and liquorice.
Palate: Super plush and opulent, rich and ripe black berried fruits, cedary tones flow in, ferrous-edged and long of finish with tight, finegrained tannins and a long draw.

An assemblage of fruit that doesn't make it into the single-vineyard wines. Deep crimson with aromas of ripe black fruits, plums and blueberry fruits. Super plush and opulent, cedary tones flow in, ferrous-edged and long of finish with tight, fine-grained tannins and a long draw. Lots of flavour here for the price.
